This Privacy Policy explains how Kakeru (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and handles personal data in connection with Kakeru (the “Service”).

Account information (when signed in): user ID, email address, display name, and profile image provided through Google sign-in (Firebase Authentication). When using the Service as a guest, a unique user ID is generated through anonymous authentication, and board data is stored on our servers.
Service data: board IDs, board titles, drawing data, sharing settings, user settings, announcement read state, and related metadata needed to run the Service.
Usage and technical data: screen transitions, feature usage events, device/browser information, performance data, and error logs.
Local storage and cookies used for Service behavior and settings (for example, drawing tool settings, experimental settings, install-banner state, support widget display timing, and a small cookie used for site behavior control).

2. How We Use Data

To provide and maintain core features of the Service.
To authenticate users and protect access to data.
To monitor usage, improve quality, and fix bugs.
To provide support and communicate service-related information.

3. Third-Party Services

The Service uses third-party infrastructure and tools, including:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics, App Check/Recaptcha)
Sentry (error monitoring and performance tracing)
Cloudflare Workers/KV (image delivery and related processing)
Buy Me a Coffee widget (support/donation feature)

Data may be processed in countries outside your place of residence through these service providers.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with service providers listed above only to the extent necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service, or as required by law.

5. Data Retention

We retain data for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You can delete board content through the Service where such controls are available. If you wish to delete your account or personal data, please contact us.

6. Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can manage some settings directly in the Service.
You can clear local browser data (cookies/local storage) from your browser settings.
